USA Hostels Room Info
Room rates at all USA Hostels include all taxes and daily breakfast of fresh fruit, all-you-can make pancakes, a variety of bread items, oatmeal,juice, coffee and tea. Also available free is wifi, linens, luggage lockers in each room, storage on the day of checkout, linens, laundry soap and a range of activities and tours at each location.
Our hostel beds are real mattresses, some with pillow top; no cots, foam mattresses or plastic hospital-type beds. All beds also have warm duvets and fresh sheets are always guaranteed at check in.
The backpack-sized lockers in each dorm have power point insides for secure charging of electronics. Guests provide their own lock.
Dorm beds also include our exclusive ‘privacy pods’, featuring a shelf, reading light and power outlet along with screening from ambient noise, light and roommates, No other hostel in California offers this additional bit of privacy.
Private rooms offer a little bit of luxury away from home. Unlike other hostels that only have a bed and four walls, all our privates have tv, free towels, mini-fridges and other amenities. See the information below for the full list of what is offered at each location.
Dorm size varies by hostel:
Hollywood: 6- and 8-bed dorms with bathroom. There are also two common bathrooms, one with a shower, in the hostel.
San Francisco: all dorms are 4 beds and almost all have an in-room sink. There are shared bath and dorms with bath available. The common baths are both individual showers and toilets and full bathrooms with 5 showers, 5 sinks and 4 toilets per floor.
San Diego: 4- and 6-bed shared bath dorms. The common bathrooms include 6 showers, 8 sinks and 6 toilets on two floors. They are mixed gender.
Private rooms also vary by hostel but all rates quoted are the same for one or two people.
Hollywood – smaller rooms with either one twin bunk bed or one double/full bed, cable TV, mini fridge, mp3 player, air conditioning, hair dryer, make up mirror, free towels and a private bathroom.
San Francisco – newly renovated in 2011, all rooms feature either one twin bunk bed or a queen bed, cable TV, a mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer, free towels and mp3 player. There are both shared bath and roomswith bath available.
San Diego – these unique rooms feature 14 foot ceilings and either one twin bunk bed, two twin beds or a double/full bed, satellite TV,, mini fridge, free towels and mp3 player. We also have one lofted room that sleeps 3. This room features a living room with a pull out bed and a sleeping loft for 2. All rooms are shared bath.
Save some $$$:
Economy rooms - At all our hostels we offer ‘economy’ dorms and privates. They have all the same amenities of the regular rooms, but economy rooms are in high traffic locations in the noisiest areas of the hostel. They are great to save a few $$ but we recommend only heavy sleepers or late-night party travelers for these rooms.
