About San Francisco
Our big, beautiful hostel was completely renovated when we moved into it two years ago after moving from two buildings nearby.
In addtion to dorm rooms with comfy mattresses and privates with hotel amenities, we have a very large kitchen with 8 cooking stations, a large lounge with video games, foosball and billiards tables and a quiet reading room.
Our newest feature is a 50-seat theater complete with free popcorn! We also offer free wireless throughout the building and fast, inexpensive internet service at our kiosks.
This is a compact city. We're located close to the Union Square, Chinatown, Theatre District, museums, tourist attractions and public transportation.
We don't let that go to our heads though, we still know how to throw a great party and head out on a fantastic pub crawl every Thursday night.

Brigit comes to USA Hostels from the little-understood world of horseracing. After 12 years as a horse jockey, she found herself longing to be on the other side of the fence. Brigit saw all of the gambling, drinking and excitement that the "regular" people seemed to enjoy on a daily basis and made the decision to leave the jockey lifestyle behind. She quickly pawned her trophies and blue ribbons for cold, hard cash and began her new life of hedonism. After a few years of beaches and booze, Brigit found herself in San Francisco and was immediately drawn to the wild side of USA Hostels. She manages to keep the hostel staff in check with the use of her old horse whip. Just kidding -- she uses bribery!
Hailing from Maine, Brandon recently moved to beautiful California in an attempt to jumpstart his dying music career. Originally the fifth member of the rock band KISS, Brandon found he just couldn't cut it in the world of rock n roll. We're not sure if it was the constant tripping and falling on stage due to the 6-inch platform boots. Maybe it was the severe adult acne caused by all of that black and white face makeup. Perhaps it was his raging jealousy of Gene Simmons's extra long tongue or being tone deaf. Well, I guess we'll never know! USA Hostels got lucky in finding Brandon, and that is all that matters! You can always find him around the hostel making sure that everything runs smoothly- including our Thursday night pub crawl!
Jamilla fled Florida immediately after finishing college. She decided to parachute her way around the world, one party scene at a time. You can catch her in such movies as Gone in 60 Seconds under her stage name Tasha Omigosha (stunt double for Angelina Jolie), “The Sun” in Little Miss Sunshine, and Big Worm’s sister in the movie Friday (character name “Big Germ” in case you missed her). In her spare time she enjoys doing hippie things with hippie people. After 3 weeks of poverty we finally felt sorry enough to hire her. What the hell were we thinking? (To wait so long, she rocks our socks).
